SSG’s 2017 Worlds skin provides a glimpse of their themed abilities in new splash art.

Samsung Galaxy’s World Champion Skins Revealed

The highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy’s honorary World Champion skins are now available on the PBE for testing. The League Esports Twitter account recently unveiled the splash artwork for these skins, providing fans with a closer look at each champion.

Korean Culture References

These skins pay homage to Korean culture and the League of Legends community in Korea. Each champion is adorned with symbols and designs that represent the rich heritage of the country. However, one champion, Mega Gnar, is depicted as a statue positioned far behind the rest of the group.

The Significance of Gnar’s Statue

In Korean culture, the white tiger is considered a divine spirit that protects the West. The presence of tiger statues at the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul further reinforces the sacredness of this creature. Accordingly, Gnar is portrayed as a white tiger in the skin, standing guard as a statue from a distance. While it may seem odd for him to be in two places at once, it adds a nice touch to his character design.

Teasing In-Game Abilities

The splash art also hints at some in-game abilities associated with the skin. In the background, behind Gnar, a curved wall is seen emerging from the ground. This wall is undoubtedly a reference to Taliyah’s ultimate ability, indicating that it will be themed to match the skin.

If you’re eagerly awaiting the release of these skins, they should be available soon. They are expected to be released with Patch 8.14 in approximately two weeks, and each skin will be priced at 1,350 RP.
