Spring Split Week 6 LEC Power Rankings for 2022

Only two weeks remain in the LEC Spring Split schedule and teams in Europe’s top League of Legends competition are entering a crucial phase. With five games left for each team, it’s officially crunch time.

While no team has been eliminated from the playoff picture yet, Rogue is the only team that has secured a spot. However, this weekend’s matches, such as the important match between Team Vitality and SK Gaming on Feb. 25, could have a significant impact on the final standings of the Spring Split.

Realistically, the bottom half of the playoff race is wide open, with four teams vying for two spots. Vitality, Excel Esports, SK, and MAD Lions all have a chance to secure a playoff spot. On the other hand, teams near the top of the table could also slip down as the split comes to a close.

With the LEC playoff race approaching its climax, we asked our team of League writers to rank the teams and evaluate their chances heading into the final push for the playoffs. Here are our LEC power rankings after six weeks of play in the 2022 Spring Split:

RankTeamRank change
1)Rogue
2)Fnatic
3)Misfits+1
4)G2 Esports-1
5)Team Vitality
6)Excel Esports
7)SK Gaming+1
8)MAD Lions-1
9)Astralis+1
10)Team BDS-1

On the brink of obscurity: Astralis, Team BDS

Time is running out for Astralis and Team BDS in the 2022 LEC Spring Split. Astralis earned two impressive wins recently, pulling themselves up from 10th place to ninth in the standings. However, they still have a long way to go to secure a playoff spot. On the other hand, BDS has been on a downward spiral, with no wins in the past three weeks. Both teams will face each other in their next match, and a loss for either team could spell the end of their playoff hopes.

New favorite rivalry: SK Gaming, MAD Lions

MAD Lions has struggled against SK Gaming in their matchups, causing them to fall behind in the playoff race. These two teams are currently tied for seventh place and are just one game away from a potential playoff spot. SK’s head-to-head victories over MAD have been crucial in keeping their playoff hopes alive. If the results of these matchups were different, MAD would be comfortably in the top five while SK would be near the bottom.

Balancing out: Team Vitality, Excel Esports

Team Vitality and Excel Esports are in fifth and sixth place respectively, acting as the barrier between the top four teams and the bottom of the standings. Both teams have two weeks left to prove themselves before the playoffs. Vitality has shown strength in the early game but has struggled to defeat higher-ranked teams. Excel has displayed aggression but has had trouble maintaining leads. The next two weeks will be crucial for these teams as they aim to secure a playoff spot.

The meat of the race: Fnatic, Misfits, G2 Esports

In this highly competitive group, Fnatic, Misfits, and G2 Esports are all vying for a spot in the playoffs. Fnatic’s ADC Upset has been a standout player with an impressive KDA. Misfits is currently on a five-game winning streak, with mid laner Vetheo performing exceptionally. G2, despite a 0-2 week, still holds a strong position in the standings. These teams will face tough matchups in the remaining weeks, which will be crucial in determining their playoff fate.

Clear No. 1, for now: Rogue

Rogue has solidified their position as the top team in the LEC with dominant victories over playoff contenders. Their new jungler Malrang has been instrumental in their success, constantly finding ways to engage the enemy. With their strong teamfighting and decision-making, Rogue has shown that they are the team to beat in the region. However, they still have important matches ahead, including a game against second-place Fnatic.
