Splyce’s Xerxe Plans to Bring Even More Excitement in the Next Split

Splyce’s Xerxe Reflects on Successful Spring Split and Looks Forward to Summer Split

Splyce had a great start to the 2019 season, finishing fourth overall in the LEC Spring Split. This puts them in a good position to qualify for Worlds later this year.

Although the team had some new players, like rookie mid laner Marek “Humanoid” Brazda and former Schalke top laner Tamas “Vizicsacsi” Kiss, the core of the team remained the same. ADC Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup and jungler Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir led Splyce to potential glory.

Xerxe had an exciting split in a jungle meta that was as unpredictable as he is. With the Spring Split concluded and G2 Esports representing the LEC at MSI, Xerxe now has time to reflect on the season and look ahead to the Summer Split and a possible World Championship appearance.

Interview with Xerxe

Xerxe recently spoke with about his performance and Splyce’s overall performance in the past few months.

Individual Play and Splyce’s Performance

Xerxe: Coming into the split, I didn’t have high expectations considering the strong rosters of other teams and our status as a new team. But I’m actually quite happy with how we ended up. My focus this split was to make sure everyone is on the same page and we know what to expect from each other.

Goals for the Summer Split

I think we had a good chance to win against Fnatic and secure at least third place, but our lack of experience showed. We made some small mistakes during crucial moments in the games, which had a big impact on the outcome. Our lack of experience was our weakness, but now that we’ve played together for a split, our chances will be greater in the Summer Split.

Comparison to Last Season’s Roster

Last year, Odoamne and Kasing played important roles in our shotcalling structure. This year, I had to step up as the leader and shotcaller of the team. Our skill ceiling is higher this year, and everyone is positive and open-minded to new ideas.

Humanoid’s Impact on the Team

Humanoid is an amazing player. He’s fearless and not afraid of anyone or anything. He’s willing to make aggressive and decisive calls, which is impressive for a rookie. I couldn’t have asked for a better mid laner.

Playing Off-Meta Picks

I enjoyed playing champions like Karthus this split. I had been playing Karthus even before the split started and reached the top rank with the champion. It felt great to play on the stage.

Potential Surprises in the Next Split

I like to surprise with my champion choices depending on the meta. If the meta keeps changing, you can expect more crazy picks from me in the future.

Expectations for the Summer Split

I want to thank all the fans for their support. I would love to repay everyone by qualifying for Worlds.
