Splyce’s League strategic coach Duke considers options for 2020

Splyce’s Strategic Coach, Duke, to Test Free Agency for 2020 Season

The strategic coach for Splyce’s League of Legends team, Hadrien “Duke” Forestier, will become a free agent for the 2020 season following the team’s departure from Worlds 2019. Splyce has given Duke the opportunity to explore his options for next year, and there will likely be several teams interested in signing him.

Accomplishments of Splyce Team in 2019

Splyce fans have every reason to be proud of their team’s achievements this past year. Despite a disappointing performance in the 2019 Summer Split playoffs, the team managed to qualify for Worlds by defeating tough opponents like Schalke 04 and Origen in the 2019 Regional Gauntlet.

Duke’s Announcement on Twitter

Duke announced on Twitter that his contract with Splyce will be ending soon, and he has been given the freedom to look for other opportunities for next year. He is actively seeking a head coach position and is open to inquiries.

During the World Championship, Splyce had to compete in the play-in stage before being placed in a group with FunPlus Phoenix, J Team, and GAM Esports. Despite being considered underdogs, Splyce managed to win a game against the Chinese first seed, earning themselves a spot in the knockout stage for the first time in the team’s history. However, their next challenge was going up against the tournament favorites, SK Telecom T1.

Whilst many expected SKT to sweep the series 3-0, Splyce displayed an unexpected level of resilience. They were able to win a game against the perennial world champions, proving that even a powerhouse like SKT is not invincible.

Although Duke was not the head coach of the team, he played a crucial role in Splyce’s success. He helped with team compositions, planning, and served as the on-stage coach. After his impressive performance this year, it is highly likely that he will secure a head coaching position on another team in the near future.
