Splyce undergoes rebranding as MAD Lions, unveils LEC roster

Meet the New Rookies Ready to Take the LEC by Storm

Exciting news for League of Legends fans! OverActive Media, the parent company of Splyce, has officially rebranded the team as MAD Lions for the upcoming 2020 season in the LEC. Along with the rebranding, they have also put together a fresh roster centered around mid laner Marek “Humanoid” Brázda.

Splyce exceeded fans’ expectations this year by qualifying for Worlds 2019 through the LEC Regional Gauntlet. They managed to make it past the group stage and put up a tough fight against SK Telecom T1 in the quarterfinals.

However, during the 2019 offseason, most of Splyce’s roster left, including AD carry Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup, who joined TSM in the LCS. For the 2020 season, MAD Lions has recruited four talented rookies from various European regional leagues.

MAD Lions has added top laner Andrei “Orome” Popa, 18-year-old jungler Zhiqiang “Shadow” Zhao, 17-year-old AD carry Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság, and former Mousesports support Norman “Gistick” Kaiser to their lineup. These rookies will join forces with Humanoid in the 2020 LEC Spring Split.

The team will be coached by James “Mac” MacCormack, who has been working with them since 2018. MacCormack has also worked with Origen, another prominent LEC team, and previously coached a British League team called Bulldog Esports.
