Sona receives a long-awaited voiceover update in League of Legends

Sona’s Voiceover Finally Gets an Update in League of Legends

Sona, the beloved champion in League of Legends, is finally getting a full voiceover rework after fans’ long-awaited requests.

One of the main reasons why fans wanted a voiceover (VO) update for Sona is because many of her lines are outdated. Some of her lines still refer to the player as “summoner,” a term that no longer exists in the game.

Additionally, Sona’s original voice lines were limited, with only 15 lines where she actually spoke. The rest of her taunts, jokes, and laughs consisted of various sounds and music from her instrument, the etwahl. This lack of updates in her lore made Sona players feel neglected by Riot Games.

However, the good news is that Sona fans will now receive the attention they deserve. Riot Games is giving her a complete voiceover update, including over 10 minutes of new interactions with different champions. In addition, Sona will also be receiving a new legendary skin as part of the upcoming PsyOps cosmetic line.

Sona’s popularity is growing in the professional League of Legends scene, with players experimenting with the Sona-Lux bottom combination. For example, the LEC’s MAD Lions recently secured a dominant win over Origen using the Sona and Lux duo.

There is no official release date yet for Sona’s voiceover update, but keep an eye on the League of Legends PBE for any testing opportunities.
