Sneaky alleges Riot’s restriction on co-streaming MSI alongside Doublelift and Meteos

Sneaky, Doublelift, and Meteos unable to co-stream together for MSI 2023

In North America, co-streaming is a popular way for League of Legends fans to enjoy the game with their favorite streamers. However, fans were disappointed to learn that Sneaky, Doublelift, and Meteos will not be able to co-stream together for the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).

On May 2, it was announced that LS, IWDominate, Doublelift, Meteos, and Sneaky would be the five North American co-streamers for MSI 2023. Fans were excited about the prospect of watching the tournament with commentary from these renowned players. However, it was later revealed that only one of them would be co-streaming the MSI matches at a time.

During the C9 vs. Bilibili Gaming series on May 11, a viewer asked Sneaky about this issue. He explained that only one of him, Meteos, and Doublelift could co-stream at a time. Sneaky expressed his confusion about Riot’s decision, saying that none of them had been able to co-stream for the past four days, while LS and Dom were allowed to.

This decision from Riot has left many NA League fans perplexed. Co-streams have become a gathering place for like-minded fans to enjoy competitive matches together, away from the formalities of official broadcasts. With the decline in LCS viewership, these co-streams have become even more important to the community.

Due to the restrictions, Sneaky has been the only one regularly streaming MSI matches on his Twitch channel. Meteos has only streamed a few times. Sneaky managed to have a duo co-stream with Meteos twice and with Doublelift once during the play-in stage.

The strict requirements for co-streaming have disappointed fans and may discourage them from watching MSI 2023, especially as the Bracket Stage draws have already made it challenging for the NA region to win.

The new format for MSI 2023 has given Western teams a lifeline after their disappointing performances. However, it is unlikely that Golden Guardians will win against JDG in the upper bracket. Their match begins today at 7am CT.
