League of Legends World Championship Quarterfinals Smashes Viewership Records

A staggering 2.5 million viewers watched the thrilling quarterfinals series between SK Telecom T1 and Splyce in the League of Legends World Championship, according to ESCharts. This broke the previous record set by the 2017 World finals match between SKT and Samsung Galaxy by 400,000 viewers. It also surpassed the viewership of the Fortnite World Cup 2019 Finals, which had 2.3 million viewers in July.

SKT Continues to Draw High Viewership

SKT has already surpassed the 2 million viewer mark twice in this year’s Worlds. Once during their group stage match against Fnatic and again when playing against Royal Never Give Up. Today, fans watched eagerly as SKT battled against their underdog opponent, Splyce, in a thrilling four-game series.

G2 Esports vs. DAMWON Gaming Follows Suit

In another highly anticipated quarterfinal series, G2 Esports faced off against DAMWON Gaming. The match reached a peak viewership of over 2.1 million, surpassing the 2017 Worlds finals by 16,000 viewers.
