SKT dominate KINGZONE in a thrilling LCK semifinal; sets up dream final against Griffin

The Road to the LCK Final: SKT vs. KINGZONE

In the League of Legends Champions Korea, Griffin and SKT have been dominating the competition all year. This past Sunday, SKT solidified their position by sweeping KINGZONE to secure a spot in the LCK final against Griffin.

SKT Proves Their Superiority

Despite some close moments in the games, SKT showcased their skills by overcoming KINGZONE’s strongest aspect- their bot lane. Veteran ADC Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu, who was considered an MVP contender, was outperformed by SKT’s ADC Park “Teddy” Jin-seong. Teddy’s dominance in the lane and support from his team allowed him to shine in teamfights around Baron, ultimately securing SKT’s victory.

SKT’s Late Game Triumphs

In the second game, KINGZONE initially had the upper hand with winning lanes and nearly destroyed SKT’s Nexus turret. However, SKT’s late game power, led by Teddy and support Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong, proved too much for KINGZONE. A clutch Baron play from mid laner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok further sealed the deal for SKT.

The LCK Dream Final: SKT vs. Griffin

SKT’s victory sets the stage for the highly anticipated LCK final between SKT and Griffin. These two teams previously had a close encounter, with SKT almost ending Griffin’s undefeated streak. This time, they will go head-to-head in a five-game showdown. The final match will take place on April 13 at 3am CT, determining who will represent Korea at MSI.
