SK Gaming Roster Update: Mid laner Blue Out for Opening Weekend
The offseason has been full of surprises for SK Gaming, and it seems like the changes aren’t over yet. SK announced today that their mid laner, Blue, was hospitalized for chest pains and respiratory issues. Fortunately, it was confirmed that his illness is not related to COVID-19. However, he will not be participating in the opening weekend of LEC games for SK. The organization expects him to return in week two of the 2021 LEC Summer Split after a week of rest.
Temporary Replacement: SK Prime’s twohoyrz
While Blue takes time to recover, SK has enlisted the help of SK Prime’s mid laner, twohoyrz, as a temporary replacement. twohoyrz joined SK’s Academy team in May and recently participated in the EU Masters Spring 2021 as the starting mid laner for ŠAIM SE SuppUp. Their team had an impressive showing, making it out of their group and even defeating EUM champions AGO Rogue and LVP representatives G2 Arctic. However, they were eliminated by eventual champions Karmine Corp in a close 2-1 match.
With twohoyrz’s experience and versatility, he has been practicing with SK’s main roster and will make his LEC debut in the opening three games against Astralis, Misfits, and G2. In 2021, he has played 15 different champions in competitive play, with Orianna, Akali, and Syndra being his most frequently played champions.
