SK Gaming parts ways with Crownshot

SK Gaming parts ways with ADC Crownshot ahead of 2021 League of Legends season

SK Gaming announced today that they have decided to part ways with AD carry Crownshot before the 2021 League of Legends competitive season.

Crownshot, who joined the team in late 2018, has been a consistent contributor to the roster during his time with SK Gaming. However, the team didn’t make deep playoff runs due to factors beyond their control in the bottom lane.

Thank you for being a part of the first two years of our LEC journey, Crownshot! From a promising rookie to a team leader and Twitch chat’s favourite player, it’s been a pleasure to watch you grow. We wish you nothing but the best going forward! [Twitter post embedded]

In the past year, SK Gaming had their ups and downs. They finished ninth in the 2020 Spring Split but improved to fifth in the summer. However, they were swept by Schalke 04 in the playoffs and eliminated.

Despite the team’s inconsistencies, Crownshot maintained strong performance throughout the wins and losses. He had the fourth-most kills among LEC marksmen in the 2020 Summer Split and impressive early-game stats. In fact, he had the highest average creep score at 10 minutes in his role, according to League stats site Oracle’s Elixir.

Looking ahead, there are several teams in both the LEC and LCS that could benefit from having a talented and young ADC like Crownshot on their roster. However, it remains uncertain where he will land for the 2021 Spring Split.
