Significant Changes Made to Urgot’s Abilities on the League PBE

League of Legends: Urgot Getting Major Changes to Abilities on PBE

Urgot, one of the most popular top lane champions in League of Legends, will be undergoing significant changes to his kit on the PBE. Players will need to adapt their playstyle for both the laning phase and late-game engagements. Riot is making major adjustments to Urgot’s W and E abilities to accomplish this.

Changes to W and E Abilities

Urgot’s W ability, Purge, will no longer provide a shield for himself. Instead, its mana cost will be reduced from 65 to 40. The cooldown has also been drastically decreased, going from 17/15/13/11/9 seconds to 8/6/4/2/0. At max rank, Purge will have no cooldown, allowing players to continuously use it in the late game.

On the other hand, Urgot’s shield has been moved to his E ability, Disdain. The damage of Disdain has been adjusted to be stronger in the early game but slightly weaker in the late game. The mana cost of Disdain has also changed from a flat 50 mana cost to 50/60/70/80/90 mana per level.

New Challenges for Urgot Players

With the shield now on his E ability, Urgot players will need to be more cautious when trading in lane. Previously, they could spam the shield ability without worrying too much about taking damage. However, by choosing to engage with E, both of Urgot’s defensive abilities will now be on cooldown, adding more risk to engage.

Buff to Fear Beyond Death

Urgot’s ultimate ability, Fear Beyond Death, is receiving a significant buff to its effective range. The range has been increased from 1,600 units to a whopping 2,500 units, making it harder for opponents to escape from Urgot’s grasp. These changes aim to improve Urgot’s play rate, which has declined since Patch 9.4.

Only time will tell if these adjustments will bring about the desired effect. Stay tuned for more updates.
