Shurelya’s Reverie Returns Victorious, Duskblade Receives Significant Nerf in Patch 8.5

Shurelya’s Reverie Returns to League of Legends in Patch 8.5

After a four-year absence, Shurelya’s Reverie is making a comeback in Patch 8.5 of League of Legends. The iconic item will be reintroduced with its original icon, although it will have a slight difference as one of its build components, the Philosopher’s Stone, is no longer in the game. Despite this change, the essence of the item remains the same. Patch 8.5 will also bring a significant nerf to the Duskblade of Draktharr, a commonly used item for AD assassins in the game.

The Return of Shurelya’s Reverie

The revival of Shurelya’s Reverie is due to the removal of the speed boost from the Talisman in Patch 8.2. This speed boost was particularly useful for supports, especially those who played as playmakers. However, in Patch 8.2, the support items were combined with the Sightstone and having a cheap item with both wards and a speed boost was considered excessive. As a result, the speed boost was eliminated. Now, with the absence of a speed boost option for supports, the return of Shurelya’s Reverie fills that void. This patch also marks the return of the Twin Shadows item for the same reason.

Duskblade of Draktharr Receives a Significant Nerf

The Duskblade of Draktharr, a highly popular item among AD assassins, is receiving a substantial nerf in Patch 8.5. The on-hit damage provided by the item is being reduced from 65-320 to 50-220. This change means that ranged and melee attackers will deal the same amount of damage. However, the new damage amounts will still be lower than before the nerf, resulting in a noticeable impact on ranged champions. On a positive note, melee champions using the item will now be able to destroy wards with a single hit, offering a slightly safer option for clearing wards.

Prepare for Patch 8.5 on March 7, when the return of Shurelya’s Reverie and the Duskblade nerf will take effect.
