ShowMaker and Nuguri dominate in DAMWON Gaming’s victory against SANDBOX Gaming in playoffs.

DAMWON Gaming Defeats SANDBOX Gaming in LCK Playoff Wildcard Match

Denied the opportunity in Challengers Korea, DAMWON Gaming and SANDBOX Gaming faced off in the LCK 2019 Spring Split’s wildcard match. DAMWON came out on top thanks to the outstanding performances of solo laners Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon and Heo “ShowMaker” Su. This win marks DAMWON’s first victory of the season.

A Historic Rivalry

DAMWON and SANDBOX have a longstanding rivalry that dates back to their time in Challengers Korea. Team BattleComics, now known as SANDBOX, was the only team in Challenger to defeat DAMWON last summer.

DAMWON’s Domination

Although SANDBOX had won their previous regular season matches against DAMWON, the playoff match was a different story. DAMWON took control with Nuguri and ShowMaker outperforming their opponents in the lane. Nuguri faced target bans throughout the series, but DAMWON wasn’t worried as he has a vast champion pool.

Revived with Chocolate

Although DAMWON stumbled in game two, they bounced back after their coach gave them chocolate bars. ShowMaker and DAMWON made a comeback, completely crushing SANDBOX in a quick game three blowout.

With SANDBOX defeated, DAMWON prepares to face Kingzone DragonX, a team they have yet to beat. ShowMaker is hopeful for the upcoming match and believes that this time they might emerge victorious.

DAMWON’s playoff quarterfinal match against Kingzone will take place on April 5th.
