Shopify Rebellion secures potential starting support for 2024 LCS season

League of Legends Veteran Zeyzal Joins Shopify Rebellion as Starting Support

After a three-year absence from the LCS, a veteran player of the North American League of Legends scene is making a possible return to the big stage in 2024.

Shopify Rebellion has allegedly signed Tristan “Zeyzal” Stidam as their starting support for the upcoming season, as reported by esports journalist Sander Hove. The 24-year-old will be an integral part of the organization’s introduction to the league after acquiring the franchised slot previously held by TSM.

Returning to the LCS

Zeyzal is a familiar face, best known for his time with Cloud9 during the 2018 season, where he contributed to the team’s journey to the semifinals of the World Championship. Since then, he has had stints with various LCS, Academy, and amateur teams, including Evil Geniuses, Solafide Esports, C9 Challengers, and Disguised.

If the recent moves by Shopify Rebellion are finalized, Zeyzal will reunite with former teammate Aaron “FakeGod” Lee, who also played on Disguised’s Challenger roster in 2023. Additionally, both players will be working with their former coach, Seong “Reven” Sang-hyeon, whom they played under during their time on Cloud9’s Challenger roster.

Challenges Ahead

While the organization has not been linked to many superstar players this offseason, a combination of experienced talent and promising prospects could surprise fans who may initially be underwhelmed with the reported roster. However, the team will face tough competition in 2024 as they aim to make a mark in their debut season together.
