Shocking Low Win Rate for a Popular LoL Champion at MSI 2023

Annie’s Disappointing Performance at MSI 2023

The recently concluded MSI 2023 showcased thrilling teamfights and surprising choices, with JD Gaming emerging as the victors after a final clash against Bilibili Gaming on May 21. As we analyze the statistics from the event, one champion stands out due to its shockingly low win rate.

Annie, the queen of the mid lane, was picked in a staggering 86 percent of games at MSI 2023. Teams selected her 25 times and banned her 40 times, indicating her high priority. However, despite this, Annie’s overall win rate remained disappointingly low at only 48 percent.

If we compare Annie’s performance to the two most picked champions at MSI 2023, Vi and K’Sante, her win rate is notably lower. Vi had a presence in 95 percent of games and achieved a 56 percent win rate. Similarly, K’Sante appeared in 89 percent of matches and had a 58 percent win rate, demonstrating stronger performances compared to Annie.

Aphelios’ Underwhelming Results

Another champion that struggled similarly to Annie was Aphelios. Although Aphelios had a slightly lower pick rate compared to Annie, being present in 75 percent of MSI 2023 games, his win rate was a disappointing 43 percent.

Despite their popularity and expectations, both Annie and Aphelios fell short in terms of success during MSI 2023. It will be interesting to see if these champions receive any adjustments in the future to improve their performance.
