Shell collaborates with the 2019 LEC season as official partners.

Shell Partners with League of Legends European Championship

The League of Legends European Championship (LEC) has gained another sponsor in the form of energy provider Shell. This partnership marks Shell’s first venture into esports. Along with deals with KIA Motors and Lagardere Sports, Shell joins a growing list of high-profile organizations partnering with the LEC.

Sponsorship Benefits for Shell and LEC Fans

As part of the partnership, Shell will sponsor the Baron Power Plays during LEC matches. Fans watching the German-language stream on Twitch will also have the chance to win XP Boosts for each Baron Nashor taken.

In an exciting offer for League of Legends fans in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Shell will provide free skin codes at the 2019 DACH Premier Tour. German residents who are Shell ClubSmart loyalty cardholders will also receive seven-day XP bonuses when attending LEC or DAH Premier Tour events.

Additionally, Shell will offer League of Legends rewards through its ClubSmart loyalty program. Fans using their cards at specific locations will have access to Hextech chests and keys, champions and skins, RP points, and more.

Expansion Plans and Focus

At the moment, there is no announcement regarding similar plans for other European countries. It appears that this partnership is primarily focusing on the German-speaking audience for now.

This collaboration between Shell and the LEC demonstrates the increasing interest and investment in esports by renowned companies like Shell. It’s a testament to the growing popularity and influence of competitive gaming.
