Securing the Future: Liquid Embraces High-Potential Players for 2023 NACL Roster

Team Liquid Academy: Developing Local Talent for the Future

North American League of Legends fans have been impressed with organizations like Evil Geniuses for nurturing local talent and grooming them into future superstars. However, Team Liquid has also played a significant role in developing homegrown talent.

Last split, Team Liquid Academy emerged as champions, thanks to outstanding performances from players like AD carry Sean “Yeon” Sung and support Bill “Eyla” Nguyen.

Following their success, Yeon will now be starting in the LCS for Team Liquid, while Eyla will take on the role of starting support for FlyQuest in the next split.

Looking ahead, Team Liquid has revealed their roster for the upcoming North American Challengers League. Under the guidance of Team Liquid First, the team is comprised of former Evil Geniuses pipeline players and has already garnered positive feedback from the community.

Team Liquid First Roster for 2023

  • Top – Jett Michael “Srtty” Joye
  • Jungle – Siddhant “SiddyWiddy” Nath
  • Mid – Joshua Yongjoon “Aspect” Lee
  • ADC – Miya “Miya” Kim
  • Support – David “Rovex” Sin-Keo

The majority of the roster consists of players from a mix of Evil Geniuses’ Academy team and its former Proving Grounds squad known as EG Prodigies. Both Aspect and Miya spent most of 2022 playing under the Evil Geniuses banner, and they will now venture into second-tier NA League action together in the upcoming split.

Srtty, on the other hand, has been a staple in the former “Academy” level of League and has experience playing with EG rosters. Being a veteran in the top lane adds valuable experience to the team.

One of the most intriguing additions to this roster is Rovex, a former University of Saint Thomas support who has been playing competitively since 2016. This will be his first taste of near-LCS level competition, a step up that fans have been eagerly anticipating.

Additionally, SiddyWiddy, who briefly substituted for the University of Saint Thomas team, has been a teammate of Rovex multiple times throughout their careers. Their understanding of each other’s playstyles can potentially create a formidable jungle-support duo on the Challenger League stage.

There is a lot of excitement about Team Liquid’s future and their prospects in the Challenger League with Team Liquid First. As the NACL takes over the NA weekend broadcast slot, more attention will be on these promising players and their coaching staff.
