Season 8 Update: Divers Emerge as Strong Contenders

Changes to Diving Champions Delayed Until End of Year

Riot Games, the developers of League of Legends, have announced that diving champions will not be getting any updates until at least the end of the year. This news comes as part of Riot’s midseason update, which is currently focusing on tank and mastery changes.

Andrei “Meddler” van Roon, Riot’s lead champion designer, revealed this information while addressing player questions on the League of Legends message boards. Meddler did mention that divers are a strong contender for an update later in the year, but nothing is confirmed yet.

A Disappointment for ADCs

This news may disappoint ADCs (attack damage carries), who were hoping for changes to their champions in the current meta. Unfortunately, it seems like divers won’t be receiving any updates in the near future. However, Meddler did mention in a previous post that Aatrox is likely to be a part of any future diver upgrade.

Players are eagerly awaiting the midseason update to see what changes Riot introduces for tanks and masteries. After that, the focus will shift to the potential updates for diving champions.
