Scout of EDward Gaming joins LPL as second foreign resident

Scout Becomes a Local Player in LPL for EDward Gaming

Scout, the 23-year old mid laner for EDward Gaming, is now officially a resident in the LPL. This means that he is now considered a local player according to his organization’s announcement. Scout is the second foreign player to achieve residency in the LPL, following Doinb from FunPlus Phoenix. With Scout’s new status, EDward Gaming now has an open import slot, with the other slot filled by AD carry Viper from the LCK.

Scout’s Career and Achievements

Scout started his professional League of Legends career as a trainee on SKT in 2015. He later moved to the LPL with EDward Gaming, who had a dominant season in 2016, winning the LPL Summer Split by defeating RNG without losing a single match.

Throughout his career, Scout played alongside different teammates as EDward Gaming adjusted their roster. While they consistently qualified for the World Championships under Scout’s leadership, they struggled to make a mark in the knockout matches against teams from other regions.

EDward Gaming’s Upgrades and Performance

In the last offseason, EDward Gaming made changes to their roster. They acquired Flandre for the top lane from LNG Esports and Viper for the bottom lane from Hanhwa Life Esports. These acquisitions paid off as they had an impressive performance in the 2021 LPL Spring Split, finishing second in the regular season. However, they were knocked out in a thrilling semifinal match against RNG.

Despite not winning the title, EDward Gaming showcased their potential and competitiveness with their upgraded roster.
