Riot Games Announces New Skins to Honor Samsung Galaxy White’s 2014 Victory
Riot Games has recently revealed that they will be releasing new skins to honor the 2014 League of Legends World Championship winners, Samsung Galaxy White. These skins will immortalize the team and their victory in the game.
Unique Skins for Each Player
Riot Games has chosen a signature champion for each of the five players and created a unique skin featuring Samsung’s white-and-blue colors. These skins not only honor the players’ achievements but also include inside jokes for die-hard esports fans.
Commemorating Memorable Moments
One of the interesting choices made by Riot was to create a Singed skin for Jang “Looper” Hyeong-seok, even though Singed was not a part of the competitive metagame during White’s 2014 championship run. However, Looper’s history as a superb Singed player, which led to his iconic game against Team SoloMid at Worlds, justified this decision.
Another memorable moment immortalized in the skins is Talon wearing a Samsung jacket. This jacket was passed from Bae “Dade” Eo-jin, the mid laner for Samsung Galaxy Blue, to Heo “PawN” Won-seok after White’s victory over Blue in the semifinals. This symbolizes the passing of the torch from one team to another.
Exciting New Additions for Fans
The Twitch skin for marksman imp features the toxic little rat transformed into a goblin-like creature wearing Harry Potter-style glasses. The skin also includes Twitch rolling around on the grass, just like he did at Sangam Stadium.
Cho “Mata” Se-hyoung, the support player and tournament MVP, gets his own version of iconic support champion Thresh. The skin features a recall animation where Thresh raises a Summoner’s Cup from the ground and then seizes it with his hook, just like Mata did with his playmaking ability on Thresh in Korea last year.
Availability and Pricing
These new skins will be available for purchase starting May 14. The skins range in price from 750 RP to 975 RP, with the Twitch and Thresh skins being slightly more expensive due to their new animations.
