SaintVicious’s Competitive Career Comes to an End

League of Legends veteran SaintVicious announces retirement

One of the most respected veterans of League of Legends, SaintVicious, has announced his retirement after a successful season in the game’s top league.

Last night, Brandon “SaintVicious” DiMarco shared the news on Facebook, stating that he has played his last competitive match and that more details will follow soon. The reason behind his decision has not been disclosed.

The announcement comes on the day of the roster lock for the upcoming LCS season, suggesting that Gravity Gaming may already have a replacement in mind. One potential candidate is Marcin “Kori” Wolski, a former mid laner who has transitioned to the jungle role this offseason. Reports suggest that Gravity and their coach Nick “LS” De Cesare have shown interest in recruiting him since they worked together in Europe last year.

League of Legends legend

SaintVicious, 27, is considered one of the true legends of the game. He revolutionized the jungle role by focusing on farming and pressuring in team fights, leading Counter Logic Gaming to victory in major events in 2011. Despite taking a break from the game at the end of 2013, he came back refreshed and built a successful Curse Academy squad that made it to the LCS in their debut season.

Although SaintVicious may be known for his missed smites, his impact on League of Legends is undeniable. In the future, when an American player misses a smite and then wins the World Championship, people will inevitably remember SaintVicious.

In a game with fleeting careers and short memories, leaving an indelible mark is all a player can ask for.
