Invictus Gaming’s “Rookie” Leaves After Seven Years
Invictus Gaming’s League of Legends player Song “Rookie” Eui-jin has departed from the organization today after seven years. The decision was reached through mutual agreement following a series of friendly discussions, according to the team.
During his time with IG, Rookie achieved major victories in tournaments such as NEST 2017, Demacia Cup Winter 2018, and LPL Spring 2019. However, his most significant achievement was winning the 2018 World Championship, solidifying his status as a legendary mid laner in League of Legends history.

In addition to team achievements, Rookie has also been recognized individually in the LPL with awards such as MVP of the Year, Import of the Year, and Best Mid Laner, all in 2018. He has represented the LPL in multiple All-Stars events, including 2015, 2018, and 2020. Some of his notable champion picks include Syndra, LeBlanc, and Orianna.
Hailing from KT Rolster Arrows, Rookie began his career by winning the Champions Summer 2014 and later moved to the LPL to compete with IG. Throughout his career, he achieved milestones such as reaching 1,000 kills in the LPL on April 13, 2017, and becoming the second player after Uzi to reach 2,500 kills in the LPL earlier this year. He is widely regarded as one of the best players in the League of Legends esports scene due to his exceptional mechanical skills and mastery of various champions.
The 24-year-old Rookie is now a free agent, and his future destination remains uncertain.
