Rogue narrowly secures victory against Vitality during week one of the 2021 LEC Summer Split

Rogue Clinches Close Victory Against Vitality in LEC Summer Split

Rogue secured a thrilling victory against Vitality in a closely contested match during the LEC Summer Split. The game remained evenly matched until the final moments, making it a rare and exciting showdown in League of Legends.

Vitality began the game by selecting the newly playable champions, Gwen and Viego, who had only been introduced to the LEC one day prior. Crownshot played the hyper-carry Kog’Maw in the bottom lane, while SLT took Gwen in the top lane and Lider controlled Viego in the mid lane.

Rogue, on the other hand, opted for a more traditional composition. Larssen played as Lucian in the mid lane, a champion with a high win rate in the Spring Playoffs. Odoamne chose Nocturne for the top lane, a jungle pick that gained popularity as a laner during the Spring 2021 season.

The game started with a flurry of action, as both teams aggressively pursued early leads. Inspired’s early Rift Herald helped Rogue establish an advantage, which they used to control the game and deny Vitality’s dragon control. Despite Crownshot’s slow start, Vitality fought back and remained determined to secure a win.

Vitality’s rookie top laner, SLT, played a crucial role in the mid game with an impressive performance as Gwen. He dominated the side lanes and secured an early Baron for Vitality, as well as a solo kill on Larssen. SLT’s contribution helped Vitality recover from a potential loss and turn the tide in their favor.

However, SLT’s heroics were not enough to overcome Rogue’s pixel-perfect decision-making in the final teamfight. Rogue showcased their exceptional teamwork and secured the victory, despite the incredible performances from each of Vitality’s players.

This game was undoubtedly one of the most thrilling matches in the LEC so far. Vitality’s off-season roster changes have received mixed responses from the community, but they are proving to be a formidable team in the Summer Split. While Lider is considered the star player to watch, SLT has emerged as a strong top laner and a valuable asset to the team.

Vitality’s next challenge will be against the undefeated Misfits on June 12 at 11am CT. Both teams are eager to challenge the top three teams, Rogue, MAD, and G2 Esports, in the LEC Summer Split. Stay tuned!
