Rogue Clinches First Place in LEC Spring Split with Victory over G2 Esports

Rogue emerged as the champions of the LEC 2022 Spring Split after a dominant win against G2 Esports in their final regular season game. This victory sealed Rogue’s position as the top team heading into the playoffs.

A High-Stakes Battle for Rogue

The League of Legends match between G2 and Rogue held great importance in determining the standings for the LEC Spring Split. Rogue needed a win to secure first place, while a loss would drop them to second place with Fnatic taking the top spot. With everything on the line, Rogue entered the game with a determination to make a strong statement.

Rogue’s Early Domination

Rogue showcased their ambition right from the start, securing two kills within the first five minutes of the game. They continued to dominate the early stages, with Malrang’s Hecarim securing three kills in just 10 minutes.

G2’s Attempted Comeback

G2 managed to retaliate through a skirmish in the bot lane at the 15-minute mark, grabbing the bot lane tower. However, Rogue’s AD carry, Comp, displayed exceptional skill on Zeri and thwarted G2’s advances. Comp’s efforts resulted in three kills for Rogue, bolstering their lead to an 8,000 gold advantage at the 20-minute mark. With this advantage, Rogue secured the Baron and ended the game in just 26 minutes.

Rogue’s Triumph and Playoff Choices

With this victory, Rogue finished the LEC 2022 Spring Split in first place with a 14-4 record. As the top seed, they had the opportunity to choose their first opponent for the playoffs between G2 Esports and Misfits Gaming. Rogue opted to face Misfits, and the winner of this match will secure a spot in the top three.

G2’s Fourth-Place Finish

Unfortunately, G2’s loss solidified their fourth-place finish in the LEC 2022 Spring Split. They are set to face Fnatic in the first round of the playoffs, continuing their rivalry into 2022.

What’s Next?

Following the conclusion of the regular season, the LEC 2022 Spring Split will take a break. The Spring Playoffs are scheduled to begin on March 25.
