ROCCAT Pulls off Surprise Victory in Playoffs Opening Game

League of Legends Teams Battle at Gamescom for World Championship Qualification

The top teams in Europe’s League of Legends Championship Series playoffs have gathered at Gamescom today to compete for a spot in the Summoner’s Cup, challenging the best teams in the world. Only three teams from the six who made it through the regular season will have the chance to travel to Asia for the world championships.

ROCCAT started off the playoffs with a surprising upset, defeating third seed Supa Hot Crew in a 3-1 series.

ROCCAT’s Strong Performance Sends Supa Hot Crew to Fifth-Place Match

Supa Hot Crew, who had secured third place in the regular season, were outplayed by ROCCAT in the playoffs. Despite their late-game oriented play style, Supa Hot Crew could not overcome the better prepared ROCCAT team. As a result, they will now face the potential threat of relegation in the fifth-place match against the loser of tomorrow’s SK Gaming and Millenium match.

ROCCAT Advances to Semifinals Against Fnatic

ROCCAT’s victory sets them up for a challenging semifinals match against defending champions Fnatic. Although ROCCAT struggled against Fnatic during the regular season, they have proven in past playoffs that they come prepared for specific opponents. If they continue to perform like they did today, ROCCAT might just secure a spot in the world championships.
