RNG and Team WE set for LPL playoff final

Royal Never Give Up and Team WE Advance to LPL Spring Playoffs Final

Royal Never Give Up and Team WE both sailed through their matches to secure their spots in the final of the LPL Spring Playoffs.

EDward Gaming and OMG, who both won their matches against NewBee and IMay on April 21, fell short in their quest for the final.

In the first series of the day, Team WE faced off against OMG. Despite a late scare, Team WE emerged victorious in a fiercely contested battle, winning the series 3-1.

Team WE showcased consistent gameplay throughout the series, never appearing out of the match even when they failed to capitalize on objectives. The third game, in particular, saw a back-and-forth tussle lasting 44 minutes, with Team WE managing to secure two Barons while OMG held on for their only win of the night.

Consistency and communication were key to Team WE’s success in games one, two, and four. The team demonstrated strong macro play and capitalized on mistakes made by OMG.

Royal Never Give Up defeated their long-time rivals, EDward Gaming, in the semifinals with a 3-1 victory.

EDward Gaming fought hard against Royal Never Give Up, but an improved performance from the midlaner Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao proved to be a major factor throughout the series.

RNG played aggressively against their LPL rivals and steadily improved with each game. EDward Gaming, on the other hand, failed to capitalize on RNG’s mistakes.

Team WE and Royal Never Give Up will face each other in the final on April 29, with the winner representing the LPL at MSI 2017 in Brazil starting on April 28. OMG and EDward Gaming will compete in the third-place match on April 23.
