Riot’s LEC Releases Advertisement with xPeke Taking a Bath

Riot’s Latest Ad Features xPeke Bathing with Drakos for LEC

Riot’s European esports production team has released a new ad to promote the first season of the League of Legends European Championship (LEC). The ad features former professional player Enrique ‘xPeke’ Cedeño Martínez bathing in a tub while Daniel Drakos provides a play-by-play cast of the bath. The ad is a unique and unexpected approach to generate excitement for the upcoming season of the LEC.

The ad, although meme-worthy, doesn’t reveal any new information about the LEC. Its primary purpose is to announce the start date of the league, which is January 18. This date was already confirmed when Riot announced the name change of the EU LCS to the LEC in November.

Origen, the team owned by xPeke and now part of esports organization Astralis, is one of the ten franchises included in the debut season of the LEC. The other teams are G2 Esports, Fnatic, Misfits Gaming, Excel, FC Schalke 04, Rogue, Vitality, Splyce, and SK Gaming.
