Riot’s Intention: No Reversal of Varus Nerfs

Changes to Lethality Items Could Impact Varus’ Viability

In response to upcoming changes to lethality items, Riot Games has been cautious about making major nerfs to champions. However, fans have been calling for ADCs and other champions to have their nerfs reversed following these item alterations.

But when it comes to Varus, it appears that the recent item changes have had some effect in reducing his power. Despite the nerf to Edge of Night, Riot’s lead champion designer, Andrei “Meddler” van Roon, has confirmed that the previous nerfs to Varus will not be reversed at this time. Meddler stated that Varus still requires nerfs, despite the Edge of Night nerf, and that it hasn’t significantly impacted his performance, possibly because the item’s active is also useful against him.

Edge of Night is a powerful item in League of Legends, providing increased magic resistance, attack damage, lethality, out-of-combat movement speed, and a spell shield. Its recent nerf has raised concerns among ADC players who rely on it for their Varus builds, questioning the champion’s viability for the rest of the season.
