The Countdown to the 2020 League of Legends Spring Split Begins
The start of the highly anticipated 2020 League of Legends Spring Split is just around the corner, and Riot Games is ramping up the excitement for the LEC. A recently released video highlights all the European teams competing for the championship.
In this year’s hype video, each LEC team is showcased, showcasing their unique strengths and attributes. From the rich culture and tradition of Team Vitality to the loyal and passionate fans of Fnatic, and the proven championship-winning roster of G2 Esports, every team has something special to offer before the season commences.
The video begins by recapping the end of the 2019 World Championship, where G2 faced defeat in the finals against China’s FunPlus Phoenix. Although disappointing for European fans, this setback may have been necessary for the region to bounce back even stronger this year.
All ten LEC teams are featured in the video, from Excel Esports to the MAD Lions. With new rosters and coaches across the league, each organization is determined to claim the top spot in the region and overthrow G2 as the reigning kings of Europe.
Interestingly, G2 is the last team presented in the video. Star support Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle emerges from the shadows to confidently state that although every team in the region has something impressive to offer, G2 remains the strongest team, making it just as challenging to defeat them as it was last year.
