Riot unveils an impressive augmented reality K-Pop concert and new music video for Worlds

League of Legends World Championship Finals Unveil Spectacular K-Pop Concert

The recent 2018 League of Legends World Championship finals took the competitive community by storm. However, the highlight of the opening ceremony was the captivating K-Pop concert that Riot presented.

The concert featured talented artists such as Cho “Miyeon” Mi-yeon, Jeon “Soyeon” So-yeon from the group (G)I-DLE, and American pop artist Madison Beer. What made the performance truly extraordinary were the augmented-reality characters Kai’Sa, Ahri, Akali, and Evelynn, who danced and sang alongside the artists on stage. Riot even released a music video to commemorate the new song and the Worlds performance.

Last year’s Worlds already showcased the potential of augmented reality when Riot introduced a virtual Elder Dragon during a performance of “Legends Never Die.” Given these expectations, K/DA’s debut stage performance was undeniably remarkable.

While the performance incorporated more American pop elements than traditional K-Pop hits, it still maintained the essence of K-Pop, including a dance hook and a rap guest verse. Fans of both K-Pop and League of Legends should not be disappointed.

Moreover, players have even more reason to be thrilled, as the performance also marked the release of the highly-anticipated K/DA skins in the game’s client. These skins, including Ahri, Evelynn, Kai’Sa, and Akali, can be purchased together as a bundle.
