League of Legends: The Rise of Ruination in Runeterra
Viego’s release has created anticipation in the League of Legends universe for the rise of the Ruination in Runeterra. And with Riot Games’ new trailer, that wait may finally be over.
The trailer showcases the majestic lands of Demacia, home to champions like Garen, Lux, and Fiora. The grand halls and impressive structures gleam in the light, reflecting the strength of its people.

In the trailer, the music shifts, and an ominous tone takes over. A dark green fog begins to creep across the land, corrupting everything it touches and turning them into an eerie green version. The sunlight itself takes on a green hue, showcasing the true power of the Ruination, as text reveals that Demacia is the “First to Fall.”
Fans have been eagerly waiting for a Ruination-themed event, as Riot Games had previously hinted at Viego’s arrival being connected to multiple champion releases across various games like Legends of Runeterra and Teamfight Tactics. Aside from Viego and Gwen, however, there hasn’t been much Ruination content on Summoner’s Rift.
Recently, data miners on the League of Legends PBE (Public Beta Environment) discovered files that indicate a Ruination-style game mode will be added next month, complete with new visuals for the map. Brace yourself, as the Black Mist could soon be engulfing Runeterra.
