Riot to Implement Further Jungle Adjustments in League Patch 12.23

League of Legends Jungle Changes Coming in Patch 12.23

The developers at Riot Games are hard at work balancing League of Legends before the new season begins. In the upcoming Patch 12.23, the jungle will see several adjustments to its pet system.

Lead designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison shared the details of these changes in a preview of the patch. The pet’s damage and bonus HP ratio will be slightly nerfed, with the 20 percent damage amplification no longer affecting epic monsters. Additionally, treat gold will be reduced from 50 gold to 35 due to the general increase in gold from jungle camps.

Changes to Monster Camps

The preseason has brought significant changes to monster camps, and Riot isn’t done yet. Gromp will have its auto-attack range reduced, while the large Razorback monster will receive a significant decrease in auto-attack damage.

To compensate for these changes, the leash range center will be shifted slightly from the camp’s spawn location. This adjustment gives players more freedom of movement without worrying about the monsters losing patience and resetting. Experienced junglers may need some time to adjust to this new aspect of the game before 2023.

Improved Objective Planning

There’s a small change coming to the objective planning system. When a player pings an objective’s spawn timer, such as Baron or dragon, it will no longer trigger a vote. This change recognizes that most players want to inform their team about the objective rather than starting a vote. Many players ignore the vote because it doesn’t provide useful information, so the developers are exploring better solutions for the future.

Patch 12.23 is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, Dec. 7, according to the official patch schedule.
