Riot spotlights the LEC’s top match: Origen vs. G2 Esports

G2 and Origen Set to Clash in Exciting LEC Matchup

This Saturday, Feb. 1, League of Legends fans are in for a treat as the top two LEC teams, G2 and Origen, face off in an epic showdown. According to Trevor “Quickshot” Henry, this is no longer a David vs. Goliath matchup that we used to see.

Riot Games has previewed this highly anticipated match in a YouTube video, complete with highlights, banter, neon lights, and dramatic close-ups. While G2’s jungler, Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, claims that Origen’s Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir should be afraid of them, Dragomir himself is no longer intimidated after joining Origen.

G2’s roster has remained unchanged after their impressive performance in 2019, where they made it all the way to the Worlds finals. However, Rasmus “Caps” Winther and Luka “Perkz” Perković made waves when they decided to switch roles for 2020. The role swap seems to be paying off, with Caps currently leading the LEC in kills after week one, boasting a kill participation rate of over 84 percent.

Elias “Upset” Lipp, Caps’ opponent in the bot lane, is not far behind with 14 kills and zero deaths. Upset is determined to surpass G2’s ADC and become the league’s top killer.

Currently, both G2 and Origen, along with Rogue, are at the top of the standings with a 2-0 record. The Feb. 1 matchup will determine the true best team in the LEC, at least for now.

Don’t miss out on the top-tier gameplay! Tune in to the LEC and Riot Twitch channels to catch all the action.
