Riot shares a guide on unlocking Eternals without purchasing RP

Riot Games Makes Changes to League of Legends’ Eternals Following Fan Backlash

Riot Games recently announced the addition of Eternals, an in-game achievement tracker for League of Legends. However, fans were surprised and upset to learn that Eternals could only be purchased with RP. In response to these complaints, Riot has made some important adjustments.

More Accessible Eternals with Starter Series Pack

In order to make Eternals more accessible, Riot has created a Starter Series pack for every champion in the game. These packs can be unlocked for each individual champion and will cost 2,500 Blue Essence or 225 RP. They include basic champion-specific Eternals, such as kills, assists, structures destroyed, and epic monsters killed.

Relevant Achievements and Team Play

All the achievements included in the Starter Series are relevant to any champion and also promote team play. In addition, you don’t need to land the final blow on a monster or structure. If you participate in its destruction with your teammates, your Eternal stats will still increase.

Eternal Capsules and Unlocking Eternals

Players can also obtain Eternals through Eternal Capsules, which are free rewards during the ranked season. These capsules contain orange essence and two random set shards. The shards can be used to unlock an Eternals set for a specific champion at the cost of some orange essence. If the set shards do not correspond to the desired champions, they can be disenchanted for orange essence.

Fan Backlash and Riot’s Response

Many players were unhappy with Riot’s initial system and expressed their frustration. The company received widespread criticism from the League of Legends community. This update was long overdue and Riot hopes that these changes will please the general player base.

While some players may still choose to purchase Eternals with real money, these changes offer others the opportunity to showcase their achievements without having to spend their hard-earned cash.
