Riot Reveals Zeri Passive Nerfs Following Concerning Rise in LoL Meta

Zeri to Receive Significant Changes in League of Legends Patch 13.12

Zeri, the controversial champion in League of Legends, is set to undergo major changes in Patch 13.12. Lead champion designer August Browning announced these changes to address Zeri’s dominance in the current meta.

Changes to Zeri’s Living Battery Passive

Riot will be making significant changes to Zeri’s Living Battery passive. The 45 percent shield steal and 10 percent movement speed buff will be removed. This change has contributed to Zeri’s strength, especially when paired with enchanters who can provide shields.

Impact on Synergy and Win Rates

Champions like Milio, Yuumi, and Lulu have gained priority due to their synergy with Zeri. They offer durability and movement speed through their shielding abilities. For example, Yuumi and Zeri had an impressive 55 percent win rate as a combo on Patch 13.10.

Changes to Burst Fire Ability

Zeri’s Burst Fire ability will have its passive moved to replace Living Battery’s passive. This change allows fully-charged basic attacks to activate Sheen, which deals bonus physical damage on-hit.

Effect on Sheen’s Active Bonus Damage

These changes mean that Zeri cannot activate Sheen’s active bonus damage as frequently as before. She must now wait for a fully-charged basic attack instead of spamming Q to deal massive damage in the early stages of the game.

Patch 13.12 is scheduled to release on Wednesday, June 14.
