Riot Reveals Upcoming Nerfs for Karthus, Kled, Kassadin, and Katarina in League’s Patch 10.20 Preview

League of Legends Patch 10.20: Nerfs for Karthus, Kled, Kassadin, and Katarina

Mark “Scruffy” Yetter, the lead gameplay designer of League of Legends, has provided a preview of the changes coming in Patch 10.20. Let’s take a look at the nerfs to Karthus, Kled, Kassadin, and Katarina.

These champions have been overperforming in solo queue, and adjustments are needed to maintain balance. Although they are not frequently seen in professional play, they still require some fine-tuning.

Riot’s focus in Patch 10.20 is to address Karthus’ base armor and HP regen. His armor will be reduced from 20.88 to 18, and his HP regen will go from 6.5 to six. This change aims to make Karthus more manageable in the laning phase, without significantly impacting his role as a jungler.

Kled, who has seen success in off-roles and high Elo, will also be affected by the patch. Riot is reducing his base magic resist from 31.1 to 29. This minor adjustment should help prevent him from becoming too dominant.

Kassadin’s Null Sphere (Q) shield will receive a nerf in Patch 10.20, with its value reduced from 60-160 to 40-160. This change will impact his sustain in the laning phase and might prompt players to prioritize leveling up Force Pulse (E) instead, resulting in reduced wave clear.

Katarina will finally be hit with nerfs in Patch 10.20. Her passive ability’s bonus AD ratio will be lowered from 100 to 75 percent. This adjustment will reduce her early game kill potential, especially when using the Conqueror keystone and starting with a Long Sword.

Please note that Scruffy’s Patch 10.20 preview is subject to change before the update is released on Wednesday, September 30.
