Riot Reveals Potential Champion Alterations for League of Legends Patch 9.8

Riot Games Announces Champion Buffs and Nerfs for Upcoming Patch

Riot Games’ lead designer, David “Repertoir” Capurro, has revealed the champions set to receive buffs and nerfs in the upcoming patch for League of Legends. While 13 champions will receive buffs, only three champions have made the list for nerfs.

Champion Buffs in Top Lane

The following champions are planned to receive buffs in the top lane: Singed, Fiora, Gnar, Renekton, Camille, and Ornn.

Champion Buffs in the Jungle

Sejuani, Blue Kayn, Trundle, and Amumu are among the jungle champions that could see incoming buffs.

Other Buffed Champions

Cassiopeia, Jhin, and Nautilus complete the list of champions set to receive buffs.

Champion Nerfs

Kayle, Morgana, and Zed are the only three champions on the list for nerfs. Kayle, who previously held the highest winrate in the game, has appeared in the last two patches since her rework in Patch 9.5. In the most recent patch, her twin sister Morgana received nerfs to address her strength in the mid lane.

Coup de Grace, a rune in the game, may also undergo changes with this patch. According to Riot Repertoire, the rune will receive a buff to its increased damage below 40 percent health, but its bonus attack or magic damage on champion takedowns will be removed.

These changes are set to be tested in the League of Legends Public Beta Environment starting tomorrow.
