Riot Repertoir provides detailed Aatrox updates for upcoming League PBE patch

Changes to League of Legends Champion Aatrox Revealed

League of Legends fans have been eagerly awaiting the update to champion Aatrox, and Lead Designer David “Repertoir” Capurro has now revealed the full details. These changes include adjustments to Aatrox’s ultimate ability and cooldown timings for his Q ability, The Darkin Blade.

The update for Aatrox was necessary because testing showed that he was a bit too powerful. As a result, the team at Riot Games made some nerfs to his abilities and made adjustments to his overall kit.

The new healing amplification on Aatrox’s ultimate, World Ender, has been fine-tuned. This ability now provides players with a 40/55/70 percent increased healing for its duration. Additionally, the cooldown for Aatrox’s Q ability now starts on the first cast, rather than at the end of the ability sequence.

Other changes to Aatrox have also been implemented. For example, his passive ability, Deathbringer Stance, no longer reduces healing and shielding on enemy champions. Instead, it now heals Aatrox for bonus damage dealt.

Aatrox’s ultimate ability, World Ender, is undergoing a major overhaul. It will no longer guarantee a revive for Aatrox. Instead, Aatrox must achieve a takedown while in his ultimate form in order to earn the revive. Additionally, Aatrox gains a movement speed buff of 60/80/100 percent, which decays over time. Takedowns while in World Ender form will extend the ultimate time by five seconds and refresh the movement speed buff.
