Riot prepares Patch 13.11 buffs for Akali, Azir, and more; High-skill LoL picks back in the spotlight

League of Legends Patch 13.11 Set to Buff Unpopular Champions

After the conclusion of MSI, attention now turns to League of Legends Patch 13.11, which aims to give some TLC to the game’s least popular champions.

Riot Games has announced that high-skill champions such as Akali, Kalista, and Twisted Fate are in line for buffs, according to a patch preview from the League developer team on May 22. Renekton, Rek’Sai, and Azir will also receive slight boosts.

Ivern will also receive a buff ahead of his controversial rework, which players have been able to test since early May on the PBE server.

These champions have the lowest pick rates, with Akali having the highest pick rate at just 4.6% in games above Platinum, according to U.GG, a League stats tracking website. Additionally, all seven champions have struggling win rates, with Twisted Fate being the closest to parity at 49.7%.

None of the champions being buffed had any impact at MSI. Only Renekton (two bans, four picks) and Twisted Fate (one pick) saw any play in London.

Several items, including Duskblade of Draktharr, Kraken Slayer, Moonstone Renewer, and Navori Quickblades, will also receive buffs. These items were recently reworked in Patch 13.10, indicating that Riot is not satisfied with their performance.

The Legendary item Statikk Shiv will also receive a buff after its underwhelming return to the game in Patch 13.10.

The League developers are pleased with how the classes have shifted in the previous patches, but they continue to monitor the strength of certain ADC builds due to the recent item changes.

League Patch 13.11 is scheduled to release on Thursday, June 1.
