Riot plans to enhance Tryndamere and Master Yi in Patch 8.3

Master Yi and Tryndamere to Receive Buffs

Riot Games has announced that Master Yi and Tryndamere, two attack speed-oriented champions in League of Legends, will be receiving buffs. The developers have not provided specific details about the upcoming changes, but it is evident that both champions are currently underperforming.

The current meta heavily favors playmaking tanks with strong crowd control abilities, making it difficult for attack speed-oriented champions like Master Yi and Tryndamere to thrive. Additionally, assassins with high mobility pose a challenge for them as well.

According to the statistics from League stats site OP.gg, both champions have similar playrates and winrates, sitting at around 47 percent. While Master Yi is slightly more popular than Tryndamere, the difference is not significant.

In order to improve their performance, buffing the damage of their basic attacks would likely be excessive. Instead, Riot Games is expected to enhance their utility to help them deal with their counters more effectively.

For Tryndamere, potential buffs may include reducing the cooldown on his Spinning Slash ability, allowing him to evade tanks and crowd control more frequently. Alternatively, his self-healing ability, Bloodlust, could be strengthened to enable better damage mitigation while being kited.

Master Yi could receive a slight damage increase on his E ability to better handle tanks, which are ironically his main counters. Additionally, the damage reduction on his Meditation ability could be increased, or the cooldown on his Alpha Strike could be adjusted similar to Tryndamere’s Spinning Slash.

It is anticipated that these buffs will be tested on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) when Patch 8.2 goes live next week. Players can expect the changes to become available on the live servers in approximately three weeks.
