Riot plans significant buffs for the next patch following Zac’s flawed rework

League of Legends Players Upset with Midseason Update

League of Legends players were hopeful that the recent Midseason update would improve the gameplay experience, particularly for the champions Sejuani, Maokai, and Zac. Unfortunately, while Sejuani and Maokai received positive changes, Zac’s situation seems quite grim.

According to a post on the Riot subreddit dedicated to Zac, he is currently weak and in need of significant buffs. In fact, Riot is already planning to improve almost his entire kit in the next patch. This is ironic because Zac was actually in a relatively healthy state before the update, although he lacked some identity. Now, he feels like a mere shadow of his former self.

The main issue with Zac is that many of his spells have been nerfed, resulting in reduced damage and less effective ganks and camp-clearing abilities. Additionally, his crowd control capabilities, which are vital for disruption tanks, have been nerfed as well. While there was a small increase in the slow on his Q in an emergency hotfix, it’s clear that Zac needs more than just a quick fix to address his problems.

Another problem for Zac is the changes to tank items in the game. These changes focus on reducing health while increasing resistances, which conflicts with Zac’s abilities that rely on a large health pool. As a result, he struggles to effectively utilize the new tank items.

Fortunately, Riot is currently planning buffs to help restore Zac’s former glory. While nothing is finalized yet, some potential ideas include increasing the health he gains from his passive, enhancing the knock-up on his E ability, and causing him to drop more blobs if he hits multiple champions. These ideas sound promising, but their effectiveness will only be known once the buffs are tested on the PBE (Public Beta Environment).

In summary, Zac players are disappointed with the Midseason update as it has weakened his overall performance. However, Riot is working on addressing these concerns and plans to implement buffs to improve Zac’s viability in the game.
