Riot Makes Adjustments to LoL’s Assassin Item Pool, Including Changes to a Contentious Item in Patch 13.16

Riot Games Makes Adjustments to League of Legends’ Duskblade of Draktharr in Patch 13.16

Riot Games has responded to player feedback regarding the infamous Duskblade of Draktharr, one of the most dreaded assassin items in League of Legends, and has made some changes in Patch 13.16 to help balance its usage among popular champions like Zed, Qiyana, Kha’Zix, and Shaco.

Based on recent changes to the League of Legends’ PBE server, Duskblade of Draktharr will have its cooldown increased by 20 seconds and its damage reduced by two percent at later levels.

Zed's suits up alongside his clones in his Debonair skin.

These adjustments should be good news for solo queue players who have found the weapon to be “anti-fun” as it makes burst-like assassins invulnerable to damage and crowd control after each kill. Increasing the cooldown will require players to wait before continuing their killing spree, making it a bit more manageable for opponents. Although the invulnerability effect is still annoying, these changes will at least limit how often assassins can pounce on unsuspecting opponents.

Prowler’s Claw will also receive a five-second cooldown reduction and a 10 percent bonus AD ratio increase, while Axiom Arc will have a base ultimate cooldown refund increase of five percent. These adjustments will make these items more efficient for assassin champions during ganks and teamfights.

Patch 13.16 is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
