Riot loads massive Ornn upgrade changes onto LoL PBE for Patch 14.11 testing

League of Legends’ major mid-season patch is set to arrive on May 15, and Riot Games is already hard at work on the next release, 14.11. Currently, the devs are testing major improvements to Ornn’s upgrades.

According to a post from League’s subreddit from May 14, Ornn’s main mechanic, which revolves around him crafting and upgrading his and his teammates’ items, is getting updated. This means he may now improve practically any upgraded item, with the exception of Mejai’s Soulstealer, Vigilant Wadstone, Tear goods, and all support quest items. The worth of all upgraded items will be 1000 gold.

For example, Kraken Slayer, which previously granted 50 attack damage, 40% attack speed, and 7% movement speed, now grants 64 attack damage, 56 attack speed, and 7% movement speed after Ornn’s improvement. Additional health works differently, and the value decreases the more of this stat you have.

Ornn’s enhancements still apply to your first slot. Selling the enhanced item and then purchasing another that you desire upgraded will not work, and you will remain stuck with the component that was originally upgraded. Unfortunately, the improved objects’ names are no longer distinctive. In Patch 14.11, their names will be formatted as: “Kraken Slayer (Masterwork).”

On top of that, Patch 14.11 appears to extend the homestart length in ARAM from 10 to 20 seconds. This is the speed you have at the beginning of the game and when you respawn in the early stages of ARAM.

League Patch 14.11 is planned to be released on May 30. This is only the beginning of PBE testing; additional changes will follow.
