Riot is eliminating a major method for skin refunds in League later this year

League of Legends Players Will Lose Refund Token Option

League of Legends players are accustomed to having three refund tokens to return purchased items. However, Riot Games plans to remove this option later this year.

Initially, Riot provided players with three refund tokens that could be used within 90 days of purchase. This allowed players to return skins, wards, or icons regardless of whether they had used the item or not. But starting this year, players will no longer have access to refund tokens as the developers are removing them from the game.

Due to the complexity of the refund system, Riot is initially giving all players three refund tokens this year. However, the company has decided to permanently remove refund tokens to address the challenges associated with maintaining the system.

“However, due to the aforementioned complexity, we’ve made the difficult decision to remove refund tokens entirely later this year in patch 13.11,” Riot stated. “This will bring the refund policy in line with our other games, removing the need to maintain an older system just for League. As a result, the base refund policy will shift in patch 13.11 as well.”

Players still have half the year, until Wednesday, June 28, to utilize their refund tokens before patch 13.11 is released.
