Riot Introduces New Spirit Blossom Skins for Syndra, Master Yi, Sett, and more in League’s Expanding Universe

Spirit Blossom Skin Line Returns to League of Legends for World Championship Event

League of Legends players have a reason to rejoice as the popular Spirit Blossom skin line is making a comeback in the game, just in time for this year’s World Championship event. The skin line debuted alongside a massive summer-long event in 2020 and quickly gained popularity among players. Now, Riot Games has officially announced the return of Spirit Blossom, bringing with it a roster of new champions decked out in fantastical outfits.

New Champions and Prestige Skin

Joining the lands of the roaming spirits are Syndra, Tristana, Soraka, Evelynn, Sett, Aphelios, Yorick, Darius, and Master Yi. In addition, Master Yi will also receive a Prestige version of his Spirit Blossom skin, which will be available during the simultaneous event. Players are excited to explore the world of Spirit Blossom once again and unlock these visually stunning skins.

New Venture for Riot

Spirit Blossom marked a new venture for Riot Games, as it introduced the game’s first in-game visual novel. Players could complete missions and interact with the various champions in the Spirit Blossom universe, progressing through captivating stories and earning rewards. Although a similar format was used in subsequent events, such as Sentinels of Light and Star Guardian, players believe that Spirit Blossom implemented the visual novel format most effectively.

Mystical Skins with Eastern-inspired Designs

Each Spirit Blossom skin depicts the champions adorned with mystical pink flowers, known as Spirit Blossoms, and dressed in light, Eastern-style clothing. The skins also incorporate wildlife elements like wolves and butterflies, adding to the enchanting aesthetic. For champions like Evelynn, Yorick, and Darius, this style diverges from their usual grim thematic, but the vibrant colors seamlessly fit into the Spirit Blossom universe.

Release and Testing

It is currently unclear if all of the new Spirit Blossom skins will be released simultaneously. However, they are expected to be split across two patches to maintain player excitement, most likely as part of a Spirit Blossom event. Players can look forward to testing the skins on the PBE soon, with the official release scheduled for Patch 12.19 on October 5. An official trailer showcasing the skins on the Rift and information on their availability for purchase will be released shortly.
