League of Legends Bug: K’Sante Nerfs and Automatic Rune Change in Patch 13.23
Live-service games often encounter bugs, and League of Legends is no different. While Riot Games usually provides quick fixes for these issues, one bug seems to have eluded a proper solution. In the current version of League’s PBE (public beta environment), K’Sante has been targeted with a significant number of nerfs to his damage across various abilities. One of these nerfs includes an automatic rune slot change for players who use Hexflash from the Inspiration tree, replacing it with Magical Footwear.
Players have noticed that this change may be a response to an unintended interaction between K’Sante and Hexflash, which was previously documented. The bug allows K’Sante to instantly cast his W ability without charging it by pressing Hexflash. This combo can catch opponents off-guard and deal significant damage. The change in runes is not common, but it seems to be related to the bug’s effect when using Hexflash.
Some champions have automatic rune changes when loading onto Summoner’s Rift, based on unique cases such as not using mana. These changes are more prevalent in ARAM matches, where certain runes have no effect due to the map’s limitations.
K’Sante’s Dominance and Quick Fixes
Despite the recent nerfs, K’Sante remains a nightmare for players due to his durability, damage, and mobility. His tank design does not hinder his effectiveness, making him one of the most challenging champions to counter. Riot implemented a quick hotfix in Patch 13.21 to nerf his Q, but he still maintains a strong presence across the game. Currently, K’Sante has a 56% presence rate at the ongoing World Championship, according to Leaguepedia.
It is unclear if Riot will include this specific change with K’Sante’s other nerfs in the upcoming Patch 13.23 or if they will address the bug separately before release. More details about the patch are expected to be revealed in the coming week.
