Riot Games unveils a contemporary and understated update for League’s celebrated Summoner’s Cup

Riot Games Unveils Redesigned Summoner’s Cup for League of Legends World Championship

Riot Games has revealed a sleek and modern redesign for the Summoner’s Cup, the official trophy of the League of Legends World Championship.

The new Summoner’s Cup features a more angular design, moving away from its traditional rounded shape. The trophy now has clean-cut, linear attributes, replacing many of its old spherical features.

The most notable addition to the cup is its base, which now showcases the names of previous Worlds winners engraved into it. This includes the champions’ names and their full rosters, solidifying their place in League esports history. From Fnatic in 2011 to Edward Gaming in 2021, all the champions’ names have been etched into the Cup.

In addition, the Cup now features five silver pipes around its midsection, each adorned with the logos for the five positions in League of Legends. This promotes the concept of “five united as one,” as seen in the reveal trailer for the new Cup.

Tiffany & Co., the renowned jewelry brand, collaborated with Riot Games to create the redesigned Summoner’s Cup. The brand also designed the LPL’s Silver Dragon Cup, which was unveiled last season.

The redesigned Summoner’s Cup will make its debut at this year’s League World Championship and will also be featured in the game starting on Sept. 20 with the release of Patch 12.18. The Cup’s new design was originally leaked on the League PBE via a ward skin.

The League of Legends World Championship is set to kick off on Sept. 29, with the grand finals scheduled for Nov. 5, where players will have the opportunity to lift the Summoner’s Cup.
