Riot Games reveals more adjustments to Wukong for League PBE

Riot Games Reveals Changes to Wukong’s Abilities

Riot Games’ design director, Andrei “Meddler” van Roon, has shared more details about the changes being made to Wukong’s kit in a recent Dev Corner blog post. The focus of these changes is on his Q and W abilities, as well as his ultimate.

Last week, Meddler announced that Riot was giving Wukong, the resident Monkey King of League of Legends, an update to better reflect his trickster theme. However, he mentioned that these changes will not go live for quite some time and they are still undergoing extensive testing.

One of the changes made is to Wukong’s Q ability, which now not only deals bonus magic damage but also provides healing to the player. The ability’s magic damage now scales with attack damage (AD), while the base damage has been reduced.

The most significant change is to Wukong’s W ability, which now summons a clone that can attack enemies. In addition, he can now dash in the direction of the player’s cursor and even pass through thin walls. The clone also benefits from the attack speed buff from Wukong’s E ability and the passive auto attack buff from his Q ability.

Meddler also adjusted the cooldown of Wukong’s ultimate so that it begins as soon as it is cast, allowing it to synergize with the Presence of Mind rune. Players now have the option to cancel the ultimate by reactivating it.

These changes will be available on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) for three weeks before being removed. Players can test them out and provide feedback to help fine-tune Wukong’s reworked abilities.
