Riot Introduces New Ways for Fans to Enjoy League of Legends
Riot is introducing a new way for fans to show their support for professional League of Legends teams. Beginning May 31, fans can purchase either a Fan Pass or a Team Pass depending on their region. These passes, costing 980RP each, unlock special watch missions and reward players with exclusive loot items to showcase their dedication to their favorite teams.
Team Pass
For Europe and North America, fans can purchase a Team Pass which allows them to support one team during their region’s summer split. By watching their chosen team on the LoL Esports website, fans can earn team-themed rewards such as summoner icons, emotes, and ward skins. Additionally, 50% of the revenue from Team Passes will go directly to the teams in each league.
Team Pass holders will also receive an LCS or LEC chroma, blue essence, key fragments, and two Masterwork chests as part of their purchase.
Fan Pass
In Brazil, Turkey, Latin America, Japan, and Oceania, fans can purchase a Fan Pass. This pass offers a set of premium missions that provide exclusive rewards for watching games on the LoL Esports website or playing League of Legends matches. 50% of the revenue from Fan Passes will be shared with all the teams in the user’s professional league.
Players who purchase a Fan Pass will receive rewards like blue essence, summoner’s icons, an emote, a ward skin, and a chroma. They will also receive Hextech Crafting materials including key fragments and two Masterwork chests.
